An often asked question is how can people possibly get an eye exam if they cant read or don’t know numbers or letters!? We are here to say that it is absolutely possible and also happens very frequently. 

First and foremost, there are many different circumstances where one is not able to read. The most common situations we encounter is when the child is too young to read or our special needs members have trouble reading and communicating. Everyone’s situation is unique, but Optical Academy is able to ensure each individual member is always taken care of when it comes to their vision.

Furthermore, Optical Academy makes eye care and eyewear convenient for all of our members as we travel directly to them with mobile eye care. We set up an entire onsite mobile optical at schools, worksites, community establishments, and fragile members’ homes providing mobile eye exams and eyewear for everyone of all ages.

Additionally, at schools we often see an abundance of students who are too little to read and special needs students who are non-verbal or have difficulty reading. For Optical Academy, this is no problem at all as we are experts in handling all members’ specific circumstances. Our mobile optometrist and onsite vision team are equipped with special handheld equipment to ensure those who are unable to read can still receive their mobile eye test. We are able to accurately determine if one needs glasses or not and measure their prescription through our advanced mobile equipment.
